Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to diverse and talented project teams. Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, develop and manage a project plan and ensure successful on-time, on-budget delivery of multiple large-scale enterprise projects.

Specifics Include:

  • Leading multiple concurrent project initiatives from proposal through implementation and client acceptance.
  • Scope, pitch and close of professional service engagements.
  • Estimating and negotiating processes and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and exceed client expectations.
  • Ensuring effective and timely communication within the project teams and across Egenera and the Client management teams.
  • Overseeing on-going project management, resource allocation and project staffing.
  • Identifying best-practices and optimal deployment strategy for clients.
  • Budgeting and pricing for projects.
  • Generating and leading new business initiatives within existing client base.
  • Assisting Egenera pre-sales efforts by serving as an Egenera subject matter expert and providing financial (ROI) and technical competitive analysis.
  • Developing and nurturing strong client relationships with C-Level executives; educate and advise clients on industry trends and technologies; attain trusted advisor status to clients.
  • Capable of delivery hands-on technical support for project-related activities.

Skills Required:

  • Ideal candidate will have 5 years or similar consulting background, 8-12 years of consulting experience, led and managed dynamic teams, experience with proposal and sales activities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and diplomacy skills.
  • Experience in managing IT projects.
  • Strong customer-facing presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with C-Level executives, as well as technical professionals.
  • Proven ability to document, propose and present comprehensive project plans and recommendations.
  • Ability to expertly lead and manage diverse, decentralized teams.
  • Ability to selll services and technology.
  • 4-year undergraduate degree with success in business, consulting, engineering, math and/or IT area.
  • 50 percent travel

Desired but not required:

  • Experience with Data Center operations and application development environments
  • Experience in managing or implementing projects with Siebel, SAP, Oracle, MS Exchange, and Mainframe technologies
  • PMI or equivalent
