Summary:

Provides hands on technical development for enterprise quality software projects.

Responsibilities:

Performs technical development of complex software projects as a member of a highly skilled, highly motivated, excellence striving team:

  • Designs and implements complex software projects
  • Documents functional and design specifications
  • Develops and executes unit and functional test suites
  • Works with QA to provide quality products
  • Maintains and improves a good development methodology
  • Communicates project status
  • Commitment to schedules

Maintains an advanced technical understanding of product suite as well as our competitor's products and technologies:

  • Provide technical expertise in specific areas
  • May be directly involved in customer calls
  • May be called upon to provide troubleshooting assistance to Sustaining Engineering
  • May work with Product Management to understand competition as well as provide input for keeping product technically ahead of competition

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of BSEE or BSCS
  • 7+ years relevant software development experience

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of all areas of software development
  • Must possess the proven ability to solve complex problems and grasp a large and complex code base
  • Requires technical innovation and creativity, thoroughness, attention to detail, adaptability to shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking
  • Must demonstrate accountability, dependability,  and the ability to exercise solid judgment and decision making
  • Must also demonstrate a sense of understanding and urgency for priorities
  • This individual is expected to operate quite independently, hardworking, and be self-motivated as well as self-directed
  • Must enjoy working with other team members and departments in a collaborative fashion
  • Excellent communication and listening skills

Required Knowledge base:

  • Experience with low level Windows driver development such as NDIS or storport
  • Proficient in C and assembly language
  • Proficient in C and assembly language Debugging and development tools
  • Test methodologies
