Aware, Eternal, Sarvega and TIBCO Join Forces with Utility Computing Leader
Marlboro, Mass.—December 8, 2004—Egenera Inc., a leader in utility computing, today announced that Aware Software Inc., Eternal Systems Inc., Sarvega Inc. and TIBCO Software Inc. have joined the Egenera Accelerate alliance program as Assured Solution Alliances members. The Accelerate program helps ensure that customers derive maximum value from an Egenera® BladeFrame® deployment by validating applications for interoperability with the system.

Aware is a leading provider of enterprise reporting software. Eternal Systems' Duration 2.1 addresses the difficult problem of transparently and automatically managing availability and failover of any application running on the Linux platform, whether stateful or stateless. Duration 2.1 provides non-stop operation of mission-critical enterprise applications by transparently and automatically protecting running enterprise applications, including the application's memory image and storage. In the event of a fault, whether hardware or software, Duration automatically fails the application over to a backup sever, all while preserving the memory image and storage. The application, now on the backup server, continues to provide service uninterrupted.

Sarvega's XML Speedway software running on the Egenera BladeFrame brings the benefits of virtual grid computing to XML Web Services. The solution provides high XML performance with low total cost of ownership. As a result, companies can use the solution to move core business applications to a reliable, high-performance XML Web Services computing environment. Sarvega XML Speedway software is standards-compliant, including support for XML, FIXML, ACORD XML, MDDL, ebXML, XBRL and others.
