Apptis Healthcare Team Reports $85 Million in Wins to Support the DoD Military Health System

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 2005--Apptis, Inc. announced today it has won contracts totaling more than $85 million from the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System (MHS).

"We are pleased the DOD Military Health System has recognized our expertise and selected Apptis to provide these critical services," said Steve Baldwin, President and CEO of Apptis. The wins include the following contracts:

  • The Military Health System (MHS) Enterprise Blade Server Production Operations contract from the MHS, Resources Information Technology Program Office. The contract will provide 24x7x365 production operations and maintenance services to the MHS's enterprise blade server deployment.
  • A modification to the existing MHS Hub and Rack Shared Computing Infrastructure contract to fund full deployment of blade servers at 75 MTFs around the world. The MHS enterprise blade server is based on the Egenera(R) BladeFrame(R) platform..
  • The Designated Provider Data Contract from TRICARE Management Activity. The contract will provide a fully automated data warehousing and information system to support the TRICARE Designated Provider Program. The Apptis team includes DefenseWeb Technologies, Inc. and Ingenix Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.
  • The TRICARE Area Office - Pacific, Enrollment, Marketing, and Beneficiary Education Support contract. Apptis will provide enrollment, marketing, and beneficiary education services throughout the Western Pacific. TRICARE Pacific provides health care for more than 180,000 eligible beneficiaries in more than 26 countries including Japan, Korea, Guam, and Western Pacific Remote countries.
  • The Defense Medical Human Resource System - internet (DMHRSi) Upgrade and Enhancements contract from the MHS, Resources Information Technology Program Office. Apptis will upgrade DMHRSi to the latest release of the Oracle 11i E-Business Suite and provide enhancement support.
  • The eHealth Capabilities - Concept of Exploration (COE) from the MHS, Resources Information Technology Program Office. Apptis is leading the COE effort to evaluate, recommend, and pilot the following eHealth capabilities to be integrated and deployed throughout the MHS: Single Sign-On for Client/Server Applications, Context Management, and Secure Messaging.
  • The MHS Performance Management Display Tool contract from the MHS, Executive Information/ Decision Support Program Office. Apptis is teamed with SciHealth, Inc., an industry leader in providing next generation business intelligence solutions, to deliver a web-based solution to improve the ability of the MHS to set, monitor, and achieve strategic performance goals, and to quickly and accurately communicate performance information to all levels of the MHS.
  • A modification to the existing Patient Safety Reporting Proof of Concept from the MHS, Resources Information Technology Program Office. The contract calls for limited deployment of SafeCare(TM) SIS as the DoD MHS Patient Safety Reporting System within the MHS infrastructure, including three facilities per Service, service medical commands, the Services' headquarters and the DoD Patient Safety Center.
