BladeFrame® and BladeFrame ES System Software
The BladeFrame and BladeFrame ES support Processing Blades running Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® AS; SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server; Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003, Enterprise and Standard Editions; and Sun® SolarisTM 10.
System management is performed through Egenera PAN ManagerTM software, which enables utility computing by automating the administration of processing, storage and network pools. PAN Manager features both a command line interface and a browser-based GUI that deliver remote, lights-out access anytime from anywhere. SNMP-based integration with leading enterprise management consoles is also provided.
PAN Manager software replaces physical server components—including internal disk, network interfaces and switches, storage interfaces, and KVM switches—with software equivalents. As a result, users can allocate resources to business services without the physical restrictions of legacy hardware. Moreover, PAN Manager continuously monitors the health and performance of resources and optimizes system operation in a predictive manner, making BladeFrame systems self-monitoring, self-healing and self-recovering.
