-First Dell/PAN System Trial Earns High Praise-
MARLBORO, Mass. — December 16, 2008 — Egenera, Inc. today announced Intermedia, a leading provider of collaboration and productivity Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, has completed a proof of concept (POC) implementation of the Dell™ / PAN System designed by Egenera®. Intermedia’s POC used the Dell / PAN solution to quickly deploy and remotely manage servers for a dynamically expanding user base and workload.
New York-based Intermedia provides enterprise-grade, hosted IT solutions such as Microsoft Exchange, to the small and medium business market. To offer enterprise-grade solutions with industry leading Service Level Agreements at an affordable price, the company is investing in products that ensure high-availability, flexibility, and provide rapid recovery through improved data center efficiency. The POC was used to test “pods” of 30 pre-configured servers that are used to deploy new infrastructure within Intermedia Data Centers.. The Dell / PAN solution allows Intermedia to remotely manage and re-provision servers for rapid deployment, consolidate fiber and network connections, and simplify controllers and proxy, all through one centralized management tool.
